Dwyer Peer to Peer Veterans Program

The Dwyer Peer to Peer Program gives veterans a place to connect with other veterans in a safe, familiar, and non-clinical setting. Peer support, social activities, and veteran-centered connection can help reduce isolation while strengthening trust, friendship, and community involvement.

Directions in Independent Living serves individuals, families, veterans, caregivers, and community partners across Olean, Wellsville, Cattaraugus County, Allegany County, McKean County, and Potter County with a focus on independence, accessibility, self-direction, safety, and community participation.

Dwyer Peer to Peer Program

Available in Cattaraugus County

The PFC Joseph P. Dwyer Peer to Peer Program was created to help veterans meet with other veterans in a secure, comfortable atmosphere to help each other cope with effects of PTSD and TBI. The Vet to Vet, Peer to Peer approach allows for complete anonymity without fear of reprisal. The program goal is to link veterans in Cattaraugus County together through socialization, friendship, and peer support in a non-clinical setting.
