Directions in Independent Living offers a variety of services for youth and their families. Please read below to learn more:

Transitional Support - Agency staff assists youth by:

  • Working with both the family and the school to aid in the transition of students into Elementary, Middle, and High School.
  • Linking families with transitional coordinators in schools.
  • Working with young adults transitioning into college.
  • Finding additional resources available to the family/student in order to maximize their chances of success in school.
  • Helping youth enter the workforce and begin a career through training, workshops, and administering interest inventories.
  • Referring eligible youth to the Job Corps Academy

Sensitivity Awareness - Agency staff provide workshops on disability sensitivity awareness for staff working with youth at the middle school, high school, and college levels.
